He the boy grew heavy and strong. And to look on him you could perceive an ancient spirit for his mind was dark and honed to age by grief. And his sister grew tall and slender. With raven hair and fair skn. But her beauty masked her ferocity like a wolf in sheepskin clothing. Or rather she was even more liken to a serpent disguised as a dove.

Their story begins bitter as the tragedies that fall upon the innocent do. They were once part of a loving family but fate brought about different ends. In their youth they, with their parents and infant brother went to the beach. It chanced that at a moment of inattention the infant brother was taken by a wave and swept out to sea. In desperation the father swam out combing the sea floor to great depths if only to find his child's body. But alas a great sea creature came upon him and layed him to waist. Till night fall the three, mother, brother and sister sat at the shore till finally the mother rose and took her children with her. As they walked along the great coastal wall grief drove the mother to madness and she threw herself from the walls edge upon the many rocks and ocean below. And so the days of sorrow stretched out weary days of survival and darkness for these two children.

It is said that on the winds carried the echo of an ill fated voice saying

"frighten them, exhaust them and destroy them."
